A tan solo poco tiempo de su estreno, Super Smash Bros se ha convertido en el más vendido de la eShop, derrocando al legado que había dejado Animal Crossing: New Leaf.
La llegada del juego al Nintendo 3DS ha sido tan exitosa, que no solo desplazó de la lista de más vendidos al ya citado Animal Crossing, sino que también le arrebató posiciones a otros títulos como Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal World Duel Carnival y Mario Kart 7.
